Epic Sports & Entertainment was founded on the basis of community, friendship, & endless possibilities. With
the "sky is the limit" attitude, the Epic Sports & Entertainment staff brings fresh & new ideas to each event , thus

has been featured in international magazines boasting the professional management styles of the staff & the
execution of well-organized events.
Founder & Advisor, JJ Gottsch brings extensive sports management to the Epic team. JJ is the Executive Vice
President of Ryan Sanders Baseball. Ryan Sanders Baseball is the owner/operator of the Hooks, the Double-A
affiliate of the Houston Astros, and the Round Rock Express, the Triple-A affiliate of the Astros. JJ is the longest-
tenured employee with Ryan Sanders Baseball and has played a key role in the development of both clubs. JJ
has brought several marquee events to Round Rock and Corpus Christi. Portions of the movie “The Rookie” and
TV show “The Simple Life 2” were filmed at the Dell Diamond as well as the Jim Rome “World Tour” in 2003. He
also worked with Director Michael Meredith on his upcoming film, "The Open Road," starring Justin Timberlake.
Timberlake portrays fictional Hooks player Carlton Garrett, with portions of the film shot at Whataburger Field.
JJ currently serves on the steering committee for the National Sports Forum and has numerous relationships
throughout the sports and entertainment world. JJ received his Bachelor of Science degree from TCU in Radio-
Television-Film Production.
Jessica Davila-Burnett serves as President & contributes over twelve years of event planning & concept
development experience to Epic. Jessica was named one of Latina Magazine's Top 10 Most Amazing Women for
her volunteer work in the Corpus Christi community. She has founded non-profit organizations within the Corpus
Christi community & has served as a board member for the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra and March of
Dimes. Currently, Jessica serves as board of director for Amistad Community Health Center, Leadership
Corpus Christi, and the Corpus Christi Independent School District Foundation. Prior to Epic, Jessica was Vice-
President for the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce where she led the organization in special events & fund
development. Jessica was honored as Person of the Year at the 2007 Corpus Christi Under 40 awards. Jessica
received both her Bachelors Degree & Masters Degree in Organizational Development from the University of the
Incarnate Word, and serves as the UIW Alumni Coastal Bend Chapter Representative.
Managing Partner, Evonne Gottsch graduated from St. Edwards University with a degree in English
Arts & Literature. Evonne was the Founder & Publisher of FYI, an arts, entertainment & lifestyle publication.
Evonne is a genuine marketer & is one of the most creative professionals in the field of advertising & marketing.
Evonne brings a unique management style of attention to detail to ensure well organized events & out of the box
thinking on brand positioning & placement. Evonne is a board member of CCU40, KEDT-TV, Art Museum of
South Texas, & CC Patch. Evonne is married to JJ & went to middle-school with Jessica!
